Laskay: Map to Laskay
Hamlet of Laskay - Weston Rd south off King Rd, just west of Hwy 400. In 1832 Joseph Baldwin named this small village Loskie after his home town in England. At one time, Laskay was a thriving village, with a gristmill, tavern and brothel, woolen mills that attrached farmers from surrounding areas. Village lots were created in the 1850's, but by the late 1800's all the wooden mills either burned to the ground or were washed away by Humber River floods. Laskay Gallery.
